Most Wave Rise guests begin with no previous surfing experience. From choosing your equipment to catching your first wave, your instructor stays with you through every step.

Before you book
Not at all — most of our guests are complete beginners. Sessions start on the sand with safety and technique, then move into shallow whitewater where your instructor stays beside you.
Beginner lessons take place in shallow water where you can stand, and you wear a buoyant board and wetsuit. Basic water confidence is recommended. Tell us before booking if you are not a swimmer so we can plan the session around it.
Yes — children from two years old are welcome. For younger children we run private lessons only, so the instructor stays one-to-one with them in the water.
All necessary surf equipment is provided: surfboard, wetsuit and leash. Bring swimwear, a towel and sun protection.
Lessons run for one or two hours. Two hours is recommended for a first session. Multi-day packages run two hours a day over three or five days.
Photos are included with private and semi-private lessons. They are also included when you book through platforms such as Tripadvisor or GetYourGuide.
